Sep 25, 2011 · any help appreciated, thanks ali. This problem we did solve! You can totally bypass the power top storage box and NOT have to spend $1000 to replace it if it breaks. If you remove all parts of the storage box, the microswitch is on the right side of the trunk, where the box would land if it were down. Remove driver front wheel. Remove fender liner. Locate a black grommet or hole at the rear of the fender cavity. The cable slides through a hole in the body. You should be able to see a spot where the old cable ran through the body and into the cabin. Insert metal end of cable through the hole and slide it up to the hood release lever. aTgu.
